The Gulf of Maine Expedition

This site highlights the Gulf of Maine Expedition; a 1000-mile kayak adventure. A group of four paddlers set out from Cape Cod to create awareness about the ecology of the Gulf and to promote low impact coastal recreational practices. Five months later they end up in Clark’s Harbour, Nova Scotia. Check out the photos and final thoughts and feedback of the participants. Some thought provoking stuff!

Pathfinder Science

Stream Monitoring, Global Warming and Winter Bird Surveys are projects that may inspire young learners and adults alike to investigate the material world through science. The emphasis is on worthwhile scientific tasks using "hands-on, minds-on" activities. One project, Lichens and SO2 help explore the environmental impacts of Sulfur Dioxide by studying the density and diversity of lichens. What are lichens?
